Doorsigns - Importance of Exit Signs

07-05-2019
by Gowtham Bhoominathan

It is important to always be aware of the exit signs in the building that you are in. This is because in case of emergencies, you'd know which way to go and panic looking for the way out. That is why, having and properly placing your exit signs should be given attention. This will also help the first responders, who are not familiar with the building's floor plan to find the way out when rescuing trapped civilians from the building.

So check your buildings for the exit signs: Are they present? Are the lights working properly? Are they 100% visible? Does it draw attention? You should be checking all these questions!

Check out our products and update your current exit signs with new exit signs from mylabels!

It's good for kids to engage into extra-curricular activities in school. They can get too busy with their activities though so organizing and labeling their things can be a big help to them and their classmates as well so they don't pick up your kid's items by mistake. Same goes for students who choose to focus on their academics, they could be too buried in their books to be bothered where their other things go.

Gear up your kids for any adventure, be it in school, in camp, or sports! Make sure their things are safe from getting lost wherever they go! These labels last a long time and are UV resistant and dishwasher and microwave safe so you can also stick it on lunchboxes and your child's table wares worry-free.

Allergy Labels

Ensure that your kids are safe from food that gives them allergies with these allergy labels! Stick them on their lunch box, water bottle, or even their IDs so they're visible to adults around your kids.

Allergies can be fatal and we have to be very careful protecting ourselves from allergens. According to www.kidswithfoodallergies.org, "the only way to prevent allergic reactions is to avoid the foods you (or your child) are allergic to." In our homes, it's easier to protect our kids from the food that they are allergic to because we have control. But what happens when kids are outside the house and you're not around? What happens in playdates or in school?

It's important to inform the adult who'll be in charge of your kids' welfare while you're away. But it never hurts to take that extra step when it comes to protecting your child especially with allergies, by putting labels on your kid's lunchboxes or ID to call the attention of the attending adult to remind them of your kid's condition. This will also make them aware and help them on how to react when your child accidentally ingests food that they are allergic to.

Always sorting out mixed up clothes in your household? Or worried about clothes getting misplaced when they leave the house? You can now label your clothes with your own personalised iron on labels. With plenty of designs to choose from, you can have one design for each household member. Most of our designs include telephone number which could be a great help when someone finds your missing extra shirt or a special handkerchief and is trying to return them to you. These labels are easy to use and can be applied on most fabric items.

HOW TO USE IRON ON LABELS

The clothes have to be washed and dry before ironing the labels.

  1. Turn the cloth inside out; be sure it is completely dry. Set your iron to dry mode (without steam) and maximum heat. (follow also the clothes ironing rules, if it is only low ironing allowed then increase the time or pressure)
  2. Peel and place the label face up on to your cloth.
  3. Cover it with backing paper.
  4. Place the hot iron on the cloth with a firm pressure and leave there 20 second without moving it. Let it cool down before you remove the paper. (can be repeated 2-3 times, until all the edges in the cloth and see the cloth texture in the label)

WASHING GUIDELINES

Please wait for 48 hours before placing the cloth in the washing machine and dryer to let the label fully stick to the cloth.

SAFETY FIRST

Always make sure that the labels are properly set on the cloth before giving them to children.

Tips on Making the Labels Last Longer

by Gowtham Bhoominathan

Our waterproof labels are dishwasher and microwave safe while our iron on labels are washing machine and dryer safe so you’re free to stick them on a lot of things that are smooth, flat, and dry. Once you’ve found a nice spot to stick it on, the next question is, how do you make it last longer? Here are some tips to make the most of you labels

Waterproof Labels

  • Stick the labels properly; pat the sticker adding a little pressure on it for a good 15 seconds. Make sure that there are no air bubbles underneath and that the edges of the stickers are sticking flat on the surface.
  • Pick a spot where it isn’t usually getting touched or scratched, like the bottom of the bottle of lunch box, top end of the pen, blunt side of the blades of the scissors, etc. This will help keep the stickers in place, and will help protect the print or the ink on the stickers as well.

Iron-On Labels

  • Make sure that you apply them on washed and dry clothes, remove any debris on the surface of the fabric that you want to stick it on.
  • Upon application of the labels, wait for 48 hours before putting the clothes into the washing machine or the dryer to get the label to fully stick to the cloth.

Your labels’ life span still depends on how they’ll be used on a daily basis, but there’s no harm in doing the extra steps to make the labels last a little longer.

In this internet age, it is easy to search for ideas on making name labels for your children or even for you! We think we’re doing ourselves a favor not spending that money on personalised labels. What we don’t know is we’re missing out on these other cool stuff:

Don’t Forget to Label the Socks!

20-02-2019
by Gowtham Bhoominathan

We often think about labeling our kids’ school uniforms when it comes to iron on labels. We usually send our kids to one school, especially for kids with ages close to each other, their clothes would look exactly the same and would cause chaos after you do laundry so it just makes sense labeling the uniforms first. And we tend to forget labeling one more school clothing: socks!!

It’s easy to miss because it’s a small piece of clothing and it’s hidden inside your shoes, but it’s important to remember that they are dirty, sweaty socks at the end of each day and that’s something we don’t want the kids to share. And it’s never too late to teach our children about proper hygiene! So don’t forget to order a set of iron on labels for the socks!

Making School More Fun for Your Kids!

20-02-2019
by Gowtham Bhoominathan

School can be a little daunting for some kids. They’re out of their comfort zone, away from the comfort and protection of their parents, being independent little hatchlings making decisions on their own. And it’s a good idea for parents to take that extra effort to help make school feel more like fun rather than a chore they have to attend to every school day.

We, at mylabels.ae, are hoping to provide some help on this department.

You can start by getting the child involved in choosing the design of the sticker to start their excitement on labeling their items. And when the labels come, ask for their help on putting the labels on as a fun activity while also discuss with them about taking care of these labeled items as it is now has their name on it, it is now their property and responsibility, so they start to feel that sense of being responsible for their items, in and out of school, even at home! They may start to feel excited just with the fact of making the ownership official, especially with the name labels on it. Plus, you help them keep their things organized and prevent their items from getting lost in the middle of their class jungle.
